Marcos 16: La resurrección.
1 Cuando pasó el sábado, María Magdalena, María, la madre de Santiago, y Salomé compraron especias aromáticas para ir a ungir el cuerpo de Jesús. 2 Muy de mañana, el primer día de la semana, apenas salido el sol, se dirigieron al sepulcro. 3 Iban diciéndose unas a otras: «¿Quién nos quitará la piedra de la entrada del sepulcro?». 4 Pues la piedra era muy grande.
Pero al fijarse bien, se dieron cuenta de que estaba corrida. 5 Al entrar en el sepulcro, vieron a un joven vestido con un manto blanco, sentado a la derecha, y se asustaron.
6 —No se asusten —dijo—. Ustedes buscan a Jesús el Nazareno, el que fue crucificado. ¡Ha resucitado! No está aquí. Miren el lugar donde lo pusieron. 7 Pero vayan a decirles a sus discípulos y a Pedro: “Él va delante de ustedes a Galilea. Allí lo verán, tal como les dijo”.
8 Temblorosas y desconcertadas, las mujeres salieron huyendo del sepulcro. No dijeron nada a nadie porque tenían miedo.[a]
Apariciones y ascensión de Jesús
9 Cuando Jesús resucitó en la madrugada del primer día de la semana, se apareció primero a María Magdalena, de la que había expulsado siete demonios. 10 Ella fue y avisó a los que habían estado con él, que estaban lamentándose y llorando. 11 Pero ellos, al oír que Jesús estaba vivo y que ella lo había visto, no lo creyeron.
12 Después se apareció Jesús en otra forma a dos de ellos que iban de camino al campo. 13 Estos volvieron y avisaron a los demás, pero no les creyeron a ellos tampoco.
14 Por último, se apareció Jesús a los once mientras comían; los reprendió por su falta de fe y por su obstinación en no creerles a los que lo habían visto resucitado.
15 Les dijo:
—Vayan por todo el mundo y anuncien las buenas noticias a toda criatura. 16 El que crea y sea bautizado será salvo, pero el que no crea será condenado. 17 Estas señales acompañarán a los que crean: en mi nombre expulsarán demonios, hablarán en nuevas lenguas, 18 tomarán serpientes con sus manos y, cuando beban algo venenoso, no les hará daño alguno; pondrán las manos sobre los enfermos y estos recobrarán la salud.
19 Después de hablar con ellos, el Señor Jesús fue llevado al cielo y se sentó a la derecha de Dios. 20 Los discípulos salieron y predicaron por todas partes, y el Señor los ayudaba en la obra y confirmaba su palabra con las señales que la acompañaban.

Entre esa hora y el atardecer, José de Aritmatea tramitó el permiso ante Pilato para ponerle en un sepulcro excavado en la roca, envolviéndole en un lienzo de lino “e hizo rodar una piedra a la entrada del sepulcro”. (Marcos 15:46]. Como cuando esperamos ansiosos los resultados de un examen médico, así debe haber sido aquel día de reposo para María Magdalena, María, la madre de Jacobo y para Salomé, quienes muy temprano, con especias aromáticas llegaron al sepulcro para ungirle. Durante todo este tiempo su preocupación fue: “¿Quién nos removerá la piedra de la entrada del sepulcro? [versículo 3, Biblia de Jerusalén]. Era una piedra “sumamente grande” [versículo 4, Biblia de las Américas]. Ensombrecidas sus mentes por la incomprensible ejecución de Jesús, desorientadas por los eventos de un par de días atrás, ahora sus mentes estaban preocupadas porque no tenían ellas las fuerzas necesarias para mover semejante roca. Simultáneamente estaba ocurriendo el evento que habría de distinguir al cristianismo de todas las demás religiones: la resurrección de Cristo. ¿Qué piedras te preocupan? ¿Qué angustias llenan tu alma? En este momento [y en cada momento] Dios está haciendo algo trascendental en tu vida o en la vida de tu prójimo, o algo aparentemente sencillo, pero no menos expresión de Su gracia. Oh, que Dios me dé la gracia de echar toda mi ansiedad sobre Él [1 Pedro 5:7] y que Él mismo abra mi mente, mi corazón y mis ojos para ver la gloria de Dios en un amanecer, en la sonrisa de un niño y en la salvación de un alma que encuentra a Cristo. “La piedra que está bloqueando tu bendición ya ha sido removida pero no lo sabrás hasta que vayas allí.” [Margaret Minnicks].
Mark 16:Jesus Has Risen
1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.[a]

9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

“The reason the stone was removed from Jesus’ tomb was not so that Jesus could get out, but so that we could go in.” [Timothy Keller]. Jesus was crucified on a Friday. He surrendered His spirit around three o’clock in the afternoon. Between that hour and evening, Joseph of Aritmathetha obtained permission from Pilate to place him in a tomb hewn out of the rock, wrapped him in a linen cloth “and rolled a stone at the entrance of the tomb.” (Mark 15:46). As when we anxiously await the results of a medical examination, so must have been that Sabbath day for Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and for Salome, who very early, with aromatic spices, arrived at the tomb to anoint him. All this time his concern was, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb? [verse 3, Jerusalem Bible]. It was an “exceedingly large” stone [verse 4, New American Citizenship Watch]. Their minds darkened by the incomprehensible execution of Jesus, disoriented by the events of a couple of days ago, now their minds were worried that they did not have the strength to move such a rock. At the same time there was taking place the event that was to distinguish Christianity from all other religions: the resurrection of Christ. What stones are you worried about? What anxieties fill your soul? At this moment [and in every moment] God is doing something momentous in your life or in the life of your neighbor, or something seemingly simple, but no less an expression of His grace. Oh, that God would give me the grace to cast all my anxiety on Him [1 Peter 5:7] and that He Himself would open my mind, my heart, and my eyes to see the glory of God in a sunrise, in the smile of a child, and in the salvation of a soul encountering Christ. “The stone that is blocking your blessing has already been removed, but you won’t know until you go there.” [Margaret Minnicks].
