Salmos 135: La grandeza del Señor y la vanidad de los ídolos.
1 Aleluya. ALABAD el nombre de Jehová; Alabad le, siervos de Jehová;
2 Los que estáis en la casa de Jehová, En los atrios de la casa de nuestro Dios.
3 Alabad á JAH, porque es bueno Jehová: Cantad salmos á su nombre, porque es suave.
4 Porque JAH ha escogido á Jacob para sí, A Israel por posesión suya.
5 Porque yo se que Jehová es grande, Y el Señor nuestro, mayor que todos los dioses.
6 Todo lo que quiso Jehová, ha hecho En los cielos y en la tierra, en las mares y en todos los abismos.
7 El hace subir las nubes del cabo de la tierra; El hizo los relámpagos para la lluvia; El saca los vientos de sus tesoros.
8 El es el que hirió los primogénitos de Egipto, Desde el hombre hasta la bestia.
9 Envió señales y prodigios en medio de ti, oh Egipto, Sobre Faraón, y sobre todos sus siervos.
10 El que hirió muchas gentes, Y mató reyes poderosos:
11 A Sehón rey Amorrheo, Y á Og rey de Basán, Y á todos los reinos de Canaán.
12 Y dió la tierra de ellos en heredad, En heredad á Israel su pueblo.
13 Oh Jehová, eterno es tu nombre; Tu memoria, oh Jehová para generación y generación.
14 Porque juzgará Jehová su pueblo, Y arrepentiráse sobre sus siervos.
15 Los ídolos de las gentes son plata y oro, Obra de manos de hombres.
16 Tienen boca, y no hablan; Tienen ojos, y no ven;
17 Tienen orejas, y no oyen; Tampoco hay espíritu en sus bocas.
18 Como ellos son los que los hacen; Todos los que en ellos confían.
19 Casa de Israel, bendecid á Jehová: Casa de Aarón, bendecid á Jehová:
20 Casa de Leví, bendecid á Jehová: Los que teméis á Jehová, bendecid á Jehová:

“La oración debe ser breve, sin dar a Dios Todopoderoso razones por las que debe conceder esto o aquello; Él sabe mejor lo que es bueno para nosotros.” [John Selden]. “Porque yo sé que el Señor es grande, y que nuestro Señor está sobre todos los dioses. Todo cuanto el Señor quiere, lo hace, en los cielos y en la tierra, en los mares y en todos los abismos.” [versículos 5 y 6, Biblia de las Américas]. A través de los años he aprendido a doblegar mi voluntad a la del Padre. Sigo insistiendo en lo que yo pienso que es mejor, pero dejo en las manos de Dios para que Él haga su voluntad porque Dios sabe mejor. Si los caminos de mi Dios me parecen extraños, incomprensibles y penosos; si mis deseos desaparecen en el mar de las preocupaciones, y el día que termina solo me ha traído dolor y pena, debo recordar: Dios nunca se equivoca. Si sus pensamientos son demasiados altos, si su misericordia es demasiado profunda, si caen mis apoyos y me falta fuerza y paciencia cuando en las noches llenas de mis lágrimas mi alma ya no encuentra salida alguna, debo recordar entonces: Dios nunca se equivoca. Sí por preguntas difíciles mi corazón se desalienta y dudo del amor de Dios, entonces debo poner todo mi anhelo en las manos de Dios y confesar con lágrimas: Dios nunca se equivoca. Por eso mi alma está tranquila y quiere dejar caer todo lo que es terrenal y frágil. A la luz de la eternidad veré que todos los caminos que él señala fueron buenos, y si incluso tuviese que perder a los más queridos, y si tuviese que andar por la noche más oscura, seguiré creyendo: Dios nunca se equivoca.” [autor desconocido].
Psalm 135: Praise to God in Creation and Redemption.
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord.
2 Ye that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
4 For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
5 For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
7 He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.
8 Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
9 Who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
19 Bless the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron:
20 Bless the Lord, O house of Levi: ye that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.
21 Blessed be the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

“Prayer should be short, without giving Almighty God reasons why He should grant this or that; He knows best what is good for us. ” [John Selden]. ” I, too, give witness to the greatness of God, our Lord, high above all other gods. He does just as he pleases— however, wherever, whenever.” [verses 5 and 6, The Message]. Over the years I have learned to bend my will to the Father’s. I keep insisting on what I think is best, but I leave it to God to do His will because God knows best. “If the ways of my God seem strange, incomprehensible, and painful to me; if my desires disappear into the sea of worries, and the day that ends has only brought me pain and sorrow, I must remember: God is never wrong. If His thoughts are too high, if His mercy is too deep, if my support falls and I lack strength and patience when in the nights full of my tears my soul no longer finds any out, I must remember then: God is never wrong. If by difficult questions my heart is discouraged and I doubt God’s love, so I must put all my longing in God’s hands and confess with tears: God is never wrong. Because of that my soul is calm and wants to drop everything that is earthly and fragile. In the light of eternity, I will see that all the ways he points out were good, and if I even have to lose those that are dearest to me, and if I have to walk through the darkest night, I will continue to believe: God is never wrong.” [author unknown].
