1 El Señor es mi pastor, nada me falta;
2 en verdes pastos me hace descansar.
Junto a tranquilas aguas me conduce;
3 me infunde nuevas fuerzas.
Me guía por sendas de justicia
haciendo honor a su nombre.
4 Aun si voy
por valles tenebrosos,
no temeré ningún mal
porque tú estás a mi lado;
tu vara y tu bastón me reconfortan.

5 Dispones ante mí un banquete
en presencia de mis enemigos.
Has ungido con aceite mi cabeza;
has llenado mi copa a rebosar.
6 Seguro estoy de que la bondad y el amor
me seguirán todos los días de mi vida;
y en la casa del Señor
habitaré para siempre.

“Jehová es mi pastor … [Versículo 1, RVR 1960]. Existen vestimentas que, con una sola talla, sirven para todos. También este salmo. Es el primero que aprendemos de niños, el que el soldado recuerda en la batalla, el que el enfermo recita en su lecho de dolor, el que el predicador proclama desde el púlpito, el que el agobiado lee en busca de descanso, y también el último que pronunciamos en nuestra vida. Este salmo no debe faltar en el botiquín de primeros auxilios, ni en la caja de herramientas, ni en el portafolio del oficinista, ni en la mochila del estudiante, ni en el costurero de la ama de casa. Un salmo apropiado para todas las ocasiones, particularmente ¡hoy! Al recorrer diariamente junto a Él las páginas de las Sagradas Escrituras, hemos experimentado Su provisión en la necesidad, Su descanso en medio de las tormentas, Su corrección cuando hemos cometido errores, Su guía en tiempos de incertidumbre, Su fortaleza en la debilidad y Su esperanza que nos mantiene espiritualmente vivos. **”Jehová es mi Pastor, me apacienta con amor, en sus pastos delicados paceré. “The Lord is my shepherd…”* [Verse 1, NKJV]. There are garments that fit everyone with just one size. So it is with this psalm. It is the first one we learn as children, the one the soldier remembers in battle, the one the sick recite in their bed of pain, the one the preacher proclaims from the pulpit, the one the weary reads in search of rest, and also the last one we speak in our life. This psalm should not be missing from the first aid kit, the toolbox, the office worker’s briefcase, the student’s backpack, or the housewife’s sewing kit. A psalm suitable for all occasions, particularly today! As we walk daily with Him through the pages of the Scriptures, we have experienced His provision in times of need, His rest in the midst of storms, His correction when we have made mistakes, His guidance in times of uncertainty, His strength in weakness, and His hope that keeps us spiritually alive. “The Lord is my Shepherd, He leads me with love, in His gentle pastures I will graze. Resting without fear in the shelter of the Lord, I will drink from the waters of rest. The Lord shepherds me, I shall not want. I will walk with Him, trusting in His arm. Nothing will separate me from the love of God.” [Enrique Turrall]. In every stage of life, in every circumstance, He accompanies us, cares for us, guides us, and provides for us.
