Salmos 19: Las obras y la palabra de Dios.

1 Los cielos cuentan la gloria de Dios;
la expansión proclama la obra de sus manos.
2 Un día transmite el mensaje al otro día;
una noche a la otra comparte sabiduría.
3 Sin palabras, sin lenguaje,
sin una voz perceptible,
4 por toda la tierra resuena su eco;
sus palabras llegan hasta los confines del mundo.
Dios ha establecido en los cielos
un hogar para el sol.
5 Y este, como novio que sale de la cámara nupcial,
se regocija, cual poderoso guerrero, al recorrer su camino.
6 Sale de un extremo de los cielos
y, en su recorrido, llega al otro extremo,
sin que nada se libre de su calor.

7 La Ley del Señor es perfecta:
infunde nuevo aliento.
El mandato del Señor es digno de confianza:
da sabiduría al sencillo.
8 Los preceptos del Señor son rectos:
traen alegría al corazón.
El mandamiento del Señor es claro:
da luz a los ojos.
9 El temor del Señor es puro:
permanece para siempre.
Las ordenanzas del Señor son verdaderas:
todas ellas son justas.

10 Son más deseables que el oro,
más que mucho oro refinado;
son más dulces que la miel,
la miel que destila del panal.
11 Por ellas queda advertido tu siervo;
quien las obedece recibe una gran recompensa.
12 ¿Quién está consciente de sus propios errores?
¡Perdóname aquellos de los que no estoy consciente!
13 Libra, además, a tu siervo de pecar a sabiendas;
no permitas que tales pecados me dominen.
Entonces seré íntegro,
inocente de un gran pecado.

14 Sean, pues, aceptables ante ti
mis palabras y mis meditaciones

El Salmo 19 nos muestra cómo Dios se revela a través de su creación y su Palabra. David comienza contemplando los cielos, luego contempla la Palabra de Dios y finalmente se fija en sí mismo, en su ser interior: “Los cielos cuentan la gloria de Dios, el firmamento proclama la obra de sus manos.” (Salmo 19:1). Aunque no tienen voz, los cielos hablan elocuentemente del poder y la majestad de Dios. El sol, como un novio que se aproxima a su amada o como un corredor que recorre su camino, es un testimonio constante de su fidelidad y cuidado. Al observar la creación, somos invitados a reflexionar sobre la grandeza de nuestro Creador y su presencia constante. En la segunda parte, David destaca la perfección de la Palabra de Dios: “La ley del Señor es perfecta, infunde nuevo aliento.” (Salmo 19:7). La Escritura es más valiosa que el oro y más dulce que la miel. Nos transforma, da sabiduría y llena de gozo el corazón. Cada versículo es una guía para vivir en comunión con Dios. Valoremos el inmenso privilegio de poder leer Su Palabra día a día. Finalmente, David reconoce su necesidad de gracia: “¿Quién está consciente de sus propios errores? Perdóname los que me son ocultos.” (Salmo 19:12). Ante la grandeza de Dios, nuestra respuesta debe ser humildad y un corazón dispuesto. Que las palabras de nuestra boca y los pensamientos de nuestro corazón sean agradables a Él, nuestra roca y redentor. Deja que el Creador y Su Palabra renueven tu fe hoy.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,

Psalm 19 shows us how God reveals Himself through His creation and His Word. David begins by contemplating the heavens, then reflects on God’s Word, and finally focuses on himself, on his inner being: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” (Psalm 19:1). Though they have no voice, the heavens eloquently speak of God’s power and majesty. The sun, like a groom approaching his bride or a runner completing his course, is a constant testimony of God’s faithfulness and care. Observing creation invites us to reflect on the greatness of our Creator and His ever-present nature. In the second part, David highlights the perfection of God’s Word: “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.” (Psalm 19:7). Scripture is more valuable than gold and sweeter than honey. It transforms us, gives wisdom, and fills our hearts with joy. Each verse serves as a guide for living in communion with God. Let us cherish the immense privilege of reading His Word every day. Finally, David acknowledges his need for grace: “But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.” (Psalm 19:12). In the face of God’s greatness, our response should be humility and a willing heart. May the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be pleasing to Him, our Rock and Redeemer.
