Salmos 14: Necedad y corrupción del hombre.

1 Dice el necio en su corazón:[a]
«No hay Dios».
Están corrompidos, sus obras son detestables;
¡no hay uno solo que haga lo bueno!

2 Desde el cielo el Señor contempla a los mortales,
para ver si hay alguien
que sea sensato y busque a Dios.
3 Pero todos se han descarriado;
a una se han corrompido.
No hay nadie que haga lo bueno;
¡no hay uno solo!

4 ¿Acaso no tienen entendimiento todos esos malhechores,
esos que devoran a mi pueblo como si fuera pan?

¡Jamás invocan al Señor!
5 Allí los tienen, sobrecogidos de miedo,
pues Dios habita entre los justos.
6 Ustedes frustran los planes de los pobres,
pero el Señor los protege.

7 ¡Oh, si de Sión saliera la salvación de Israel!
Cuando el Señor restaure a su pueblo,[b]
¡Jacob se regocijará, Israel se alegrará!

“Todos se han desviado, a una se han corrompido; no hay quien haga el bien, no hay ni siquiera uno.” [versículo 3, LBA]. Aunque apreciamos la libertad de expresión, nos entristece escuchar el lenguaje utilizado en los medios masivos de comunicación: palabras irrespetuosas hacia Dios y hacia los demás, pronunciadas sin considerar a quienes están escuchando. Algunos viven y hablan como si Dios no existiera, sin mostrar temor al justo juicio de Dios. El Salmo de hoy nos recuerda esta realidad: “Dice el necio en su corazón: ‘No hay Dios’. Están corrompidos, sus obras son detestables; ¡no hay nadie que haga lo bueno!” (versículo 1, NVI). Es una reflexión solemne sobre el estado de la humanidad cuando se aleja de Dios. Sin embargo, incluso en un mundo lleno de incredulidad y corrupción, estamos llamados a vivir de manera diferente. Como dijo Edward Everett Hale: “Soy solo uno, pero soy uno. No puedo hacer todo, pero puedo hacer algo. Y porque no puedo hacer todo, no me negaré a hacer lo que puedo hacer.” Inspirados por esto, añadimos: por la gracia de Dios, podemos marcar la diferencia. La Biblia nos anima en Romanos 12:21: “No te dejes vencer por el mal; al contrario, vence el mal con el bien.” (NVI). Este es nuestro desafío y nuestra esperanza: reflejar la bondad de Dios en medio de la oscuridad. No nos desanimemos por la ruptura que vemos a nuestro alrededor. En su lugar, confiemos en la justicia definitiva de Dios y continuemos haciendo el bien. Por medio de su gracia, podemos brillar como luces en este mundo. Recuerda: Dios nunca te fallará.

“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
there is no one who does good.

2 The Lord looks down from heaven
on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,

3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt;

4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?

They devour my people as though eating bread;

for God is present in the company of the righteous.

“… all have strayed away; all are rotten with sin. Not one is good, not one!” [verse 3, TLB]. While we cherish the freedom of expression, it saddens us to hear the language used in mass media—disrespectful words about God and others, spoken without regard for those listening. Some live and speak as though God does not exist, showing no fear of His righteous judgment. Today’s Psalm reminds us of this reality: “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.” (Verse 1, NIV). This verse is a solemn reflection on the state of humanity when it turns away from God. However, even in a world filled with disbelief and corruption, we are called to live differently. As Edward Everett Hale once said, “I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” Inspired by this, we add: by the grace of God, we can make a difference. The Bible encourages us in Romans 12:21: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (New International Version). This is our challenge and our hope—to reflect God’s goodness in the midst of darkness. Let us not be discouraged by the brokenness we see around us. Instead, let us trust in God’s ultimate justice and continue to do good. Through His grace, we can shine as lights in this world. Remember, God will never fail you.
