Números 9: Celebración de la pascua.
1 El Señor habló a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí, en el primer mes del segundo año después de la salida de Egipto. Le dijo: 2 «Los israelitas celebrarán la Pascua en la fecha señalada. 3 La celebrarán al atardecer del día catorce del mes, que es la fecha señalada. La celebrarán ciñéndose a todos sus estatutos y leyes».
4 Moisés mandó que los israelitas celebraran la Pascua, 5 y ellos la celebraron en el desierto de Sinaí, al atardecer del día catorce del mes primero. Los israelitas hicieron todo lo que el Señor había mandado a Moisés.
Casos excepcionales
6 Pero algunos no pudieron celebrar la Pascua en aquel día, pues estaban ritualmente impuros a causa de un cadáver. Ese mismo día se acercaron a Moisés y a Aarón, 7 y les dijeron:
—Hemos estado en contacto con un cadáver, así que estamos impuros. Ahora bien, esa no es razón para que no presentemos nuestras ofrendas al Señor en la fecha establecida, junto con los demás israelitas.
8 Moisés respondió:
—Esperen hasta que escuche del Señor lo que él dispone con relación a ustedes.
9 Entonces el Señor ordenó a Moisés 10 que dijera a los israelitas: «Cuando alguno de ustedes o de sus descendientes esté ritualmente impuro por haber estado en contacto con un cadáver o se encuentre fuera del país, aun así, podrá celebrar la Pascua del Señor. 11 Solo que, en ese caso, la celebrará al atardecer del día catorce del mes segundo. Comerá el cordero con pan sin levadura y hierbas amargas, 12 y no dejará nada del cordero para el día siguiente ni le quebrará un solo hueso. Cuando celebre la Pascua, lo hará según los estatutos. 13 Si alguien deja de celebrar la Pascua no estando impuro ni fuera del país, será eliminado de su pueblo por no haber presentado sus ofrendas al Señor en la fecha establecida. Así que sufrirá las consecuencias de su pecado.
14 »Si el extranjero que vive entre ustedes quiere celebrar la Pascua del Señor, deberá hacerlo ciñéndose a sus estatutos y leyes. Los mismos estatutos se aplicarán tanto a nativos como a extranjeros».
La nube sobre el santuario
15 El día en que se armó el santuario, es decir, la tienda donde se guardan las tablas del pacto, la nube lo cubrió y durante toda la noche cobró apariencia de fuego hasta el amanecer. 16 Así sucedía siempre: de día la nube cubría el santuario, mientras que de noche cobraba apariencia de fuego. 17 Cada vez que la nube se levantaba y se apartaba de la tienda, los israelitas se ponían en marcha; y donde la nube se detenía, allí acampaban. 18 Dependiendo de lo que el Señor indicara, los israelitas se ponían en marcha o acampaban; y todo el tiempo que la nube reposaba sobre el santuario, se quedaban allí. 19 No importaba que se quedara muchos días sobre el santuario; los israelitas cumplían la orden del Señor y no abandonaban el lugar. 20 Lo mismo ocurría cuando la nube reposaba poco tiempo sobre el santuario: cuando el Señor así lo indicaba, los israelitas acampaban o se ponían en marcha. 21 A veces, la nube permanecía solo desde la tarde hasta la mañana y, cuando se levantaba por la mañana, partían. Ya sea de día o de noche, siempre que se levantaba la nube, se ponían en marcha. 22 Aunque la nube reposara sobre el santuario un par de días, un mes o más tiempo, los israelitas se quedaban en el campamento y no partían. Pero cuando se levantaba, se ponían en marcha. 23 Cuando el Señor así lo indicaba, los israelitas acampaban o se ponían en marcha. Así cumplían la orden del Señor, según lo que el Señor había dicho por medio de Moisés.

“Cuando se alzaba la nube del tabernáculo, los hijos de Israel partían; y en el lugar donde la nube paraba, allí acampaban los hijos de Israel. Al mandato de Jehová los hijos de Israel partían, y al mandato de Jehová acampaban; todos los días que la nube estaba sobre el tabernáculo, permanecían acampados.” [versículos 17 y 18, RV 1960]. La nube y el fuego sobre el Tabernáculo. No solo eran símbolos de la presencia visible de un Dios invisible sino también el vehículo mediante el cual Dios los guiaría. Cuando la nube se levantaba el pueblo emprendía viaje, cuando la nube se detenía el pueblo acampaba. Así el pueblo estaba bajo la guía directa de Dios, no era Moisés quien los guiaba sino Dios mismo. Durante el día la nube y por la noche una columna de fuego. ¡Que dichosos ellos que de una manera visible y objetiva eran guiados! Hoy es el Espíritu Santo que nos puede guiar y proteger llevándonos a un lugar seguro. Su guía es invisible y subjetiva pero igualmente real. Cuando tenemos que tomar decisiones el Espíritu Santo nos guía con Su paz. “No se preocupen por nada; en cambio, oren por todo. Díganle a Dios lo que necesitan y denle gracias por todo lo que él ha hecho. Así experimentarán la paz de Dios, que supera todo lo que podemos entender. La paz de Dios cuidará su corazón y su mente mientras vivan [Filipenses 4:6-8, Versión Nueva Traducción Viviente]. Con el himno decimos: En el fondo de mi alma una dulce quietud se difunde embargando mi ser. Es la paz infinita que solo podrán los amados de Dios comprender [ Warren D. Cornell].
Numbers 9: The Passover.
1 The Lord spoke to Moses in the Desert of Sinai in the first month of the second year after they came out of Egypt. He said, 2 “Have the Israelites celebrate the Passover at the appointed time. 3 Celebrate it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with all its rules and regulations.”
4 So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover, 5 and they did so in the Desert of Sinai at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.
6 But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean on account of a dead body. So they came to Moses and Aaron that same day 7 and said to Moses, “We have become unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be kept from presenting the Lord’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”
8 Moses answered them, “Wait until I find out what the Lord commands concerning you.”
9 Then the Lord said to Moses, 10 “Tell the Israelites: ‘When any of you or your descendants are unclean because of a dead body or are away on a journey, they are still to celebrate the Lord’s Passover, 11 but they are to do it on the fourteenth day of the second month at twilight. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 12 They must not leave any of it till morning or break any of its bones. When they celebrate the Passover, they must follow all the regulations. 13 But if anyone who is ceremonially clean and not on a journey fails to celebrate the Passover, they must be cut off from their people for not presenting the Lord’s offering at the appointed time. They will bear the consequences of their sin.
14 “‘A foreigner residing among you is also to celebrate the Lord’s Passover in accordance with its rules and regulations. You must have the same regulations for both the foreigner and the native-born.’”
The Cloud Above the Tabernacle
15 On the day the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire. 16 That is how it continued to be; the cloud covered it, and at night it looked like fire. 17 Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped. 18 At the Lord’s command the Israelites set out, and at his command they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they remained in camp. 19 When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the Lord’s order and did not set out. 20 Sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle only a few days; at the Lord’s command they would encamp, and then at his command they would set out. 21 Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out. 22 Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. 23 At the Lord’s command they encamped, and at the Lord’s command they set out. They obeyed the Lord’s order, in accordance with his command through Moses.

” When the Cloud lifted, the people of Israel moved on to wherever it stopped and camped there. 18 In this way they journeyed at the command of the Lord and stopped where he told them to, then remained there as long as the Cloud stayed.” [verses 17 and 18, Living Bible]. The cloud and the fire over the Tabernacle. They were not only symbols of the visible presence of an invisible God but also the vehicle by which God would guide them. When the cloud rose, the people set out on a journey, when the cloud stopped the people camped. Thus, the people were under the direct guidance of God, it was not Moses who led them but God himself. During the day, the cloud and at night a pillar of fire. How blessed are they who were guided in a visible and objective way! Today it is the Holy Spirit who can guide and protect us by bringing us to safety. Its guidance is invisible and subjective, but it is equally real. When we have to make decisions, the Holy Spirit guides us with His peace. ” Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
