1 Crónicas 28:1-10 Salomón sucede a David.
Y JUNTO David en Jerusalem á todos los principales de Israel, los príncipes de las tribus, y los jefes de las divisiones que servían al rey, los tribunos y centuriones, con los superintendentes de toda la hacienda y posesión del rey, y sus hijos, con los eunucos, los poderosos, y todos sus hombres valientes.
2 Y levantándose el rey David, puesto en pie dijo: Oidme, hermanos míos, y pueblo mío. Yo tenía en propósito edificar una casa, para que en ella reposara el arca del pacto de Jehová, y para el estrado de los pies de nuestro Dios; y había ya aprestado todo para edificar.
3 Mas Dios me dijo: Tú no edificarás casa á mi nombre: porque eres hombre de guerra, y has derramado mucha sangre.
4 Empero Jehová el Dios de Israel me eligió de toda la casa de mi padre, para que perpetuamente fuese rey sobre Israel: porque á Judá escogió por caudillo, y de la casa de Judá la familia de mi padre; y de entre los hijos de mi padre agradóse de mí para ponerme por rey sobre todo Israel;
5 Y de todos mis hijos (porque Jehová me ha dado muchos hijos,) eligió á mi hijo Salomón para que se siente en el trono del reino de Jehová sobre Israel.
6 Y me ha dicho: Salomón tu hijo, él edificará mi casa y mis atrios: porque á éste me he escogido por hijo, y yo le seré á él por padre.
7 Asimismo yo confirmaré su reino para siempre, si él se esforzare á poner por obra mis mandamientos y mis juicios, como aqueste día.
8 Ahora pues, delante de lo ojos de todo Israel, congregación de Jehová, y en oídos de nuestro Dios, guardad é inquirid todos los preceptos de Jehová vuestro Dios, para que poseáis la buena tierra, y la dejéis por heredad á vuestros hijos después de vosotros perpetuamente.
9 Y tú, Salomón, hijo mío, conoce al Dios de tu padre, y sírvele con corazón perfecto, y con ánimo voluntario; porque Jehová escudriña los corazones de todos, y entiende toda imaginación de los pensamientos. Si tú le buscares, lo hallarás; mas si lo dejares, él te desechará para siempre.
10 Mira, pues, ahora que Jehová te ha elegido para que edifiques casa para santuario: esfuérzate, y haz la.

Dios no juega a las escondidas. ¿Has visto a algunos niños más pequeños que se cubren la cabeza solamente y piensan que están escondidos? ¡A veces somos más ingenuos que los niños! David, al final de sus días le habla a su hijo Salomón. David se maravilla que, de todas las tribus de Israel, Dios haya escogido a su tribu, la tribu de Judá, y de todas las familias de Judá Dios haya escogido a su familia, y de toda su familia, Dios lo haya escogido a él, y que Dios no se haya quedado allí, de todos los hijos de David, que haya escogido a Salomón. Así y todo, le hace una solemne advertencia:” Y tú, Salomón, hijo mío, reconoce al Dios de tu padre y sírvele de todo corazón y con buena disposición, porque el Señor examina todas las conciencias y distingue cualquier intención y pensamiento. Así que, si tú lo buscas, él permitirá que lo encuentres; pero si te apartas de él, te rechazará de una vez para siempre.” [versículo 9, Dios Habla Hoy]. En otras palabras, Dios no juega a las escondidas y tú no debes jugar a las escondidas con Él. Si te apartas de Él, Él se apartará de ti para siempre. ¡Que solemnes son estas palabras! La paciencia de Dios es grande pero no es infinita. Pero si en lugar de huir de Él le buscas, Él se dejará encontrar. ¡Que maravillosa revelación! Dios se dejará encontrar. Dios está más cerca de ti de lo que piensas.» Busquen al Señor mientras puedan encontrarlo, llámenlo mientras está cerca. 7 Que el malvado deje su camino, que el perverso deje sus ideas; vuélvanse al Señor, y él tendrá compasión de ustedes; vuélvanse a nuestro Dios, que es generoso para perdonar. 1 Chronicles 28:1-10 David’s Last Words.
1 And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
3 but God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.
4 Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel:
5 and of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.
8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.
9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
10 Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.

God doesn’t play hide and seek. Have you seen younger children who cover their heads only and think they are hiding from you? Sometimes we are more naïve than children! David, at the end of his days, speaks to his son Solomon. David marvels that out of all the tribes of Israel, God has chosen his tribe, the tribe of Judah, and of all the families of Judah God has chosen his family, and of all his family, God has chosen him, and that God did not stop there, of all the sons of David, God had chosen Solomon. Still, he gives him a solemn warning: ““And you, Solomon my son, get to know well your father’s God; serve him with a whole heart and eager mind, for God examines every heart and sees through every motive. If you seek him, he’ll make sure you find him, but if you abandon him, he’ll leave you for good. Look sharp now! God has chosen you to build his holy house.” [verse 9, The Message.] In other words, God doesn’t play hide and seek, and you shouldn’t play hide and seek with Him either. If you turn away from Him, He will depart from you forever. How solemn are these words! God’s patience is great, but it is not infinite. If instead of hiding from Him you seek Him, He will allow Himself to be found. What a wonderful revelation! God will allow himself to be found. God is closer to you than you think. “Seek God while he’s here to be found, pray to him while he’s close at hand. Let the wicked abandon their way of life and the evil their way of thinking. Let them come back to God, who is merciful, come back to our God, who is lavish with forgiveness. [Isaiah 55:7, The Message]. I don’t have to count to ten to open my eyes! Right now, I open my heart!
