Números 29: El día del Perdón.

1 »El día primero del mes séptimo celebrarás una asamblea sagrada y nadie realizará ningún tipo de trabajo. Ese día se anunciará con toque de trompetas. 2 Como holocausto de aroma grato al Señor, ofrecerás un ternero, un carnero y siete corderos de un año y sin defecto. 3 Con el novillo presentarás tres décimas de un efa de harina refinada mezclada con aceite; con el carnero, dos décimas de un efa[a] de esa misma harina; 4 y con cada uno de los siete corderos, una décima de un efa.[b] 5 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, para obtener así el perdón en favor de ustedes. 6 Todo esto se ofrecerá junto con las ofrendas de cereales y las ofrendas líquidas, además del holocausto mensual y del holocausto diario. Tal como está estipulado, todo esto lo presentarás como ofrenda puesta al fuego cuyo aroma es grato al Señor.

El día del Perdón
7 »El día diez del mes séptimo celebrarás una asamblea sagrada. En ese día se ayunará y nadie realizará ningún tipo de trabajo. 8 Como holocausto de aroma grato al Señor presentarás un ternero, un carnero y siete corderos de un año. Los animales no deben tener ningún defecto. 9 Con el novillo ofrecerás tres décimas de un efa de harina refinada mezclada con aceite; con el carnero, dos décimas de un efa de esa misma harina; 10 y con cada uno de los siete corderos, una décima de un efa. 11 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, además del sacrificio que se ofrece en el día del Perdón y del holocausto diario con su ofrenda de cereales y su ofrenda líquida.

Fiesta de las Enramadas
12 »El día quince del mes séptimo celebrarás una asamblea sagrada y nadie realizará ningún tipo de trabajo. Durante siete días celebrarás una fiesta en honor del Señor. 13 Como holocausto presentarás una ofrenda puesta al fuego, cuyo aroma es grato al Señor. Presentarás trece terneros, dos carneros y catorce corderos de un año, que no tengan defecto. 14 Con cada uno de los trece novillos presentarás tres décimas de un efa de harina refinada mezclada con aceite; con cada uno de los dos carneros, dos décimas de un efa de esa misma harina; 15 y con cada uno de los catorce corderos, una décima de un efa. 16 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, además del holocausto diario con su ofrenda de cereales y su ofrenda líquida.

17 »El segundo día prepararás doce terneros, dos carneros y catorce corderos de un año y sin defecto. 18 Con los novillos, carneros y corderos presentarás ofrendas de cereales y ofrendas líquidas, según lo que se especifica para cada número. 19 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, además del holocausto diario con su ofrenda de cereales y su ofrenda líquida.

20 »El tercer día prepararás once novillos, dos carneros y catorce corderos de un año y sin defecto. 21 Con los novillos, carneros y corderos presentarás ofrendas de cereales y ofrendas líquidas, según lo que se especifica para cada número. 22 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, además del holocausto diario con su ofrenda de cereales y su ofrenda líquida.

23 »El cuarto día prepararás diez novillos, dos carneros y catorce corderos de un año y sin defecto. 24 Con los novillos, carneros y corderos presentarás ofrendas de cereales y ofrendas líquidas, según lo que se especifica para cada número. 25 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, además del holocausto diario con su ofrenda de cereales y su ofrenda líquida.

26 »El quinto día prepararás nueve novillos, dos carneros y catorce corderos de un año y sin defecto. 27 Con los novillos, carneros y corderos presentarás ofrendas de cereales y ofrendas líquidas, según lo que se especifica para cada número. 28 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, además del holocausto diario con su ofrenda de cereales y su ofrenda líquida.

29 »El sexto día prepararás ocho novillos, dos carneros y catorce corderos de un año y sin defecto. 30 Con los novillos, carneros y corderos presentarás ofrendas de cereales y ofrendas líquidas, según lo que se especifica para cada número. 31 Incluirás también un macho cabrío como sacrificio por el perdón, además del holocausto diario con su ofrenda de cereales y su ofrenda líquida.

35 »El octavo día celebrarás una asamblea especial, y nadie realizará ningún tipo de trabajo. 36 Como holocausto presentarás una ofrenda puesta al fuego, cuyo aroma es grato al Señor. 39 »Estas son las ofrendas que presentarás al Señor en las fiestas designadas, aparte de otras promesas, ofrendas voluntarias, holocaustos, ofrendas de cereales, ofrendas líquidas y sacrificios de comunión que quieras presentarle».

40 Y Moisés comunicó a los israelitas todo lo que el Señor había mandado.

Aún en la actualidad la comunidad judía, tres mil cuatrocientos años después que se escribe el capítulo de hoy, celebra Yom Kippur (el día de expiación). Es un día de arrepentimiento, ayuno y oración. Es un día para saldar las cuentas con el prójimo y con Dios. Si bien este día no se encuentra entre las celebraciones del cristiano, arrepentirse, perdonar y pedir perdón son los requisitos prácticos de una vida en Cristo. “Creo que perdonar es la mejor forma de amar en una relación. Se necesita una persona fuerte para decir ‘lo siento’ y aun una mas fuerte para perdonar. [Yolanda Hadid]. “La oscuridad no puede expulsar a la oscuridad; solo la luz puede hacerlo. Numbers 29: The Day of Atonement.

1 “‘On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets. 2 As an aroma pleasing to the Lord, offer a burnt offering of one young bull, one ram and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect. 3 With the bull offer a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah[a] of the finest flour mixed with olive oil; with the ram, two-tenths[b]; 4 and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth.[c] 5 Include one male goat as a sin offering[d] to make atonement for you. 6 These are in addition to the monthly and daily burnt offerings with their grain offerings and drink offerings as specified. They are food offerings presented to the Lord, a pleasing aroma.

The Day of Atonement
7 “‘On the tenth day of this seventh month hold a sacred assembly. You must deny yourselves[e] and do no work. 8 Present as an aroma pleasing to the Lord a burnt offering of one young bull, one ram and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect. 9 With the bull offer a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with oil; with the ram, two-tenths; 10 and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth. 11 Include one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the sin offering for atonement and the regular burnt offering with its grain offering, and their drink offerings.

Celebrate a festival to the Lord for seven days. 13 Present as an aroma pleasing to the Lord a food offering consisting of a burnt offering of thirteen young bulls, two rams and fourteen male lambs a year old, all without defect. 14 With each of the thirteen bulls offer a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with oil; with each of the two rams, two-tenths; 15 and with each of the fourteen lambs, one-tenth. 16 Include one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain offering and drink offering.

17 “‘On the second day offer twelve young bulls, two rams and fourteen male lambs a year old, all without defect. 18 With the bulls, rams and lambs, offer their grain offerings and drink offerings according to the number specified. 19 Include one male goat as a sin offering, in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain offering, and their drink offerings.

39 “‘In addition to what you vow and your freewill offerings, offer these to the Lord at your appointed festivals: your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings and fellowship offerings.’”

40 Moses told the Israelites all that the Lord commanded him.

” “‘On the tenth day of this seventh month hold a sacred assembly. You must deny yourselves …” “You are also to sacrifice one male goat for a sin offering. This is in addition to the sin offering of the Day of Atonement offered annually on that day… ” [verses 7 and 11, NIV and TLB]. Even today, the Jewish community, three thousand four hundred years after today’s chapter is written, celebrates Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). It is a day of repentance, fasting, and prayer. It is a day to settle accounts with one’s neighbor and with God. While this day is not among the Christian’s celebrations, repentance, forgiveness, and asking for forgiveness are the practical requirements of a life in Christ. “I believe that forgiveness is the best way to love in a relationship. It takes a strong person to say ‘I’m sorry’ and an even stronger one to forgive. [Yolanda Hadid]. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; Only light can do it. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can” [Martin Luther King]. Be strong and ask for forgiveness. Be even stronger and forgive. Don’t wait for a special celebration, don’t delay it any longer because it may soon be too late. Forgive, forgiveness will heal the scars in your heart. Remember, that today you can celebrate “your own Yom Kippur,” don’t wait for others, start yourself, by restoring your relationship with others you will be restoring yours with God.
