Génesis 5: Los descendientes de Adán.
1 ESTE es el libro de las generaciones de Adam. El día en que crió Dios al hombre, á la semejanza de Dios lo hizo;
2 Varón y hembra los crió; y los bendijo, y llamó el nombre de ellos Adam, el día en que fueron criados.
3 Y vivió Adam ciento y treinta años, y engendró un hijo á su semejanza, conforme á su imagen, y llamó su nombre Seth.
4 Y fueron los días de Adam, después que engendró á Seth, ochocientos años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
5 Y fueron todos los días que vivió Adam novecientos y treinta años, y murió.
6 Y vivió Seth ciento y cinco años, y engendró á Enós.
7 Y vivió Seth, después que engendró á Enós, ochocientos y siete años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
8 Y fueron todos los días de Seth novecientos y doce años; y murió.
9 Y vivió Enós noventa años, y engendró á Cainán.
10 Y vivió Enós después que engendró á Cainán, ochocientos y quince años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
11 Y fueron todos los días de Enós novecientos y cinco años; y murió.
12 Y vivió Cainán setenta años, y engendró á Mahalaleel.
13 Y vivió Cainán, después que engendró á Mahalaleel, ochocientos y cuarenta años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
14 Y fueron todos los días de Cainán novecientos y diez años; y murió.
15 Y vivió Mahalaleel sesenta y cinco años, y engendró á Jared.
16 Y vivió Mahalaleel, después que engendró á Jared, ochocientos y treinta años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
17 Y fueron todos los días de Mahalaleel ochocientos noventa y cinco años; y murió.
18 Y vivió Jared ciento sesenta y dos años, y engendró á Henoch.
19 Y vivió Jared, después que engendró á Henoch, ochocientos años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
20 Y fueron todos los días de Jared novecientos sesenta y dos años; y murió.
21 Y vivió Henoch sesenta y cinco años, y engendró á Mathusalam.
22 Y caminó Henoch con Dios, después que engendró á Mathusalam, trescientos años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
23 Y fueron todos los días de Henoch trescientos sesenta y cinco años.
24 Caminó, pues, Henoch con Dios, y desapareció, porque le llevó Dios.
25 Y vivió Mathusalam ciento ochenta y siete años, y engendró á Lamech.
26 Y vivió Mathusalam, después que engendró á Lamech, setecientos ochenta y dos años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
27 Fueron, pues, todos los días de Mathusalam, novecientos sesenta y nueve años; y murió.
28 Y vivió Lamech ciento ochenta y dos años, y engendró un hijo:
29 Y llamó su nombre Noé, diciendo: Este nos aliviará de nuestras obras, y del tabajo de nuestras manos, á causa de la tierra que Jehová maldijo.
30 Y vivió Lamech, después que engendró á Noé, quinientos noventa y cinco años: y engendró hijos é hijas.
31 Y fueron todos los días de Lamech setecientos setenta y siete años; y murió.
32 Y siendo Noé de quinientos años, engendró á Sem, Châm, y á Japhet.

“Aquellos que caminan con Dios siempre llegan a su destino.” [Henry Ford]. “Caminó, pues, Enoc con Dios y desapareció, porque Dios lo llevó consigo. [versículo 24, Reina Varela Actualizada]. Termina el capítulo 4 con estas palabras: “Entonces los hombres comenzaron a invocar el nombre de Jehová.” En los primeros versículos del capítulo 5 vuelve a repetirse la oración: “Varón y hembra los creo” [versículo 2, Reina Varela 1960], y empezaron a crecer en número. Vemos aquí el evidente contraste de una generación marcada por la violencia y el pecado, con otra empieza a invocar a Dios. Dios, al pronunciar su juicio sobre el pecado dejó que gustaran la muerte. Pero no pasó así con Enoc. Enoc caminó con Dios, agradó a Dios y Dios se lo llevó sin la experiencia de la muerte. A nadie le gusta pasar ese trago, pero todos tendremos que pasarlo [¡si el Señor no viene antes!] Si estás bien con Dios, Dios te dará fortaleza para pasar ese difícil trance en completa paz, pero si no le tienes en tu corazón será el momento más difícil de tu existencia. Porque Jesús venció la muerte yo he puesto mi confianza en El, y por eso puedo gozar de paz y seguridad. “Los hombres inteligentes caminaron sobre la luna, los hombres audaces caminaron sobre el fondo del océano, pero los hombres sabios caminan con Dios.” [Leonard Ravenhill]. Caminemos este día tomados de la mano de Dios, estira tus brazos y abre tu manos, Jesus ya extendió las suyas.

1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
10 And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
12 And Cainan lived seventy years and begat Mahalaleel:
13 And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
14 And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
15 And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
16 And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
17 And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
19 And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech.
26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed.
30 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

“Those who walk with God always reach their destination.” [Henry Ford]. “Enoch walked with God; and he was not [found among men], because God took him [away to be home with Him]. [verse 24, Amplified Bible]. He ends chapter 4 with these words: “began to inwardly call on the Lord’s name. [Genesis 4:24, Wycliffe Bible].” In the first verses of chapter 5 the statement is again repeated: “He created them male and female” [verse 2, Amplified Bible], and they began to increase in number. We see here the sharp contrast of a generation marked by violence and sin, with another beginning to invoke God. God, in pronouncing His judgment on sin, allowed them to taste death. But not so with Enoch. Enoch walked with God, pleased God, and God took him away without the experience of death. No one likes to pass that trance, but we’ll all have to pass it [if the Lord doesn’t come sooner!] If you are right with God, God will give you the strength to go through that difficult time in complete peace, but if you don’t have Him in your heart, it will be the most difficult experience of your existence. Because Jesus overcame death, I have put my trust in Him, and for that reason I can enjoy peace and security. “Smart men walked on the moon, daring men walked on the ocean floor, but wise men walk with God.” [Leonard Ravenhill]. Let’s walk this day holding God’s hand, stretch out your arms and open your hands, Jesus has already extended his.
