Salmos 18: Acción de gracias por la victoria.

1 ¡Cuánto te amo, Señor, fuerza mía!

2 El Señor es mi roca, mi amparo, mi libertador;
es mi Dios, la roca en que me refugio.
Es mi escudo, el poder que me salva,[a]
¡mi más alto escondite!

3 Invoco al Señor, que es digno de alabanza,
y quedo a salvo de mis enemigos.
4 Los lazos de la muerte me envolvieron;
los torrentes destructores me abrumaron.
5 Los lazos del sepulcro[b] me enredaron;
las redes de la muerte me atraparon.

6 En mi angustia invoqué al Señor;
clamé a mi Dios por ayuda.
Él me escuchó desde su Templo;
¡mi clamor llegó a sus oídos!
7 La tierra tembló, se estremeció;
se sacudieron los cimientos de los montes;
temblaron a causa de su enojo.
8 Por la nariz echaba humo,
por la boca, fuego consumidor;
¡lanzaba carbones encendidos!
9 Rasgando el cielo, descendió,
pisando sobre oscuros nubarrones.
10 Montando sobre un querubín, surcó los cielos
y se remontó sobre las alas del viento.
11 De las tinieblas y los oscuros nubarrones
hizo su escondite, una tienda que lo rodeaba.
12 De su radiante presencia brotaron nubes,
granizos y carbones encendidos.
13 En el cielo, entre granizos y carbones encendidos,
se oyó el trueno del Señor;
resonó la voz del Altísimo.
14 Lanzó sus flechas y dispersó a los enemigos;
con relámpagos los desconcertó.
15 A causa de tu reprensión, oh Señor,
y por el resoplido de tu enojo,[c]
las cuencas del mar quedaron a la vista;
al descubierto quedaron los cimientos de la tierra.

16 Extendiendo su mano desde lo alto,
tomó la mía y me sacó del mar profundo.
17 Me libró de mi enemigo poderoso,
de aquellos que me odiaban y eran más fuertes que yo.
18 En el día de mi desgracia me salieron al encuentro,
pero mi apoyo fue el Señor.
19 Me sacó a un amplio espacio;
me libró porque se agradó de mí.

20 El Señor me ha pagado conforme a mi justicia;
me ha premiado conforme a la limpieza de mis manos.
21 He guardado los caminos del Señor
y no he cometido el error de alejarme de mi Dios.
22 Presentes tengo todas sus leyes;
no me he alejado de sus estatutos.
23 He sido íntegro ante él
y me he abstenido de pecar.
24 El Señor me ha recompensado conforme a mi justicia,
conforme a la limpieza de mis manos ante sus ojos.

25 Tú eres fiel con quien es fiel
e íntegro con quien es íntegro;
26 sincero eres con quien es sincero,
pero sagaz con el que es tramposo.
27 Tú das la victoria a los humildes,
pero humillas a los altivos.
28 Tú, Señor, mantienes mi lámpara encendida;
tú, Dios mío, iluminas mis tinieblas.
29 Con tu apoyo me lanzaré contra un ejército;
contigo, Dios mío, podré asaltar murallas.

30 El camino de Dios es perfecto;
la palabra del Señor es intachable.
Escudo es Dios a los que se refugian en él.
31 Pues ¿quién es Dios sino el Señor?
¿Quién es la Roca sino nuestro Dios?
32 Es él quien me arma de valor
y hace perfecto mi camino;
33 da a mis pies la ligereza del venado
y me mantiene firme en las alturas;
34 adiestra mis manos para la batalla
y mis brazos para tensar un arco de bronce.
35 Tú me cubres con el escudo de tu salvación
y con tu diestra me sostienes;
tu ayuda me ha hecho prosperar.
36 Has despejado el paso de mi camino,
para que mis tobillos no se tuerzan.

37 Perseguí a mis enemigos, les di alcance
y no retrocedí hasta verlos aniquilados.
38 Los aplasté. Ya no pudieron levantarse.
¡Cayeron debajo de mis pies!
39 Tú me armaste de valor para el combate;
doblegaste ante mí a los rebeldes.
40 Hiciste retroceder a mis enemigos
y así exterminé a los que me odiaban.
41 Pedían ayuda y no hubo quien los salvara.
Al Señor clamaron,[d] pero no respondió.
42 Los desmenucé. Parecían polvo disperso por el viento.
Los pisoteé[e] como al lodo de las calles.
43 Me has librado de los conflictos con el pueblo;
me has puesto por líder de las naciones;
me sirve gente que yo no conocía.
44 Apenas me oyen, me obedecen;
son extranjeros y me rinden homenaje.
45 Esos extraños se descorazonan
y temblando salen de sus refugios.

46 ¡El Señor vive! ¡Alabada sea mi Roca!
¡Exaltado sea el Dios de mi salvación!
47 Él es el Dios que me vindica,
el que pone los pueblos a mis pies.
48 Tú me libras de mis enemigos,
me exaltas por encima de mis adversarios,
me salvas de los hombres violentos.
49 Por eso, Señor, te alabo entre las naciones
y canto salmos a tu nombre.

50 Él da grandes victorias a su rey;
a su ungido David y a sus descendientes
les muestra por siempre su gran amor.

“… Escudo es Dios a los que se refugian en él. Pues … ¿Quién es la Roca sino nuestro Dios? Es él quien me arma de valor.” [versículos 30-32, NNI]. ¿Estás esperando que te llegue un paquete a tu casa? En 2023, durante la temporada navideña, se entregaron más de 4.5 mil millones de paquetes a través de Amazon, UPS, FedEx, el correo postal y otras empresas. Estos pedidos se hicieron “online” a través de la poderosa e invisible nube cibernética. Versículo 6: “En mi angustia invoqué a Jehová, Y clamé a mi Dios. Él oyó mi voz desde su templo, Y mi clamor llegó delante de él, a sus oídos.” [RVR 1960]. Los barcos en peligro envían un SOS, una señal en busca de ayuda…. Versículo 16: “Extendiendo su mano desde lo alto, tomó la mía y me sacó del mar profundo.” [NVI]. Como una canasta de regalos que contiene una variedad de sabrosos alimentos, escucha lo que recibió David: Tú, Señor, eres, mi fuerza, mi roca, Tú eres mi protector, mi lugar de refugio, mi libertador, mi Dios, la roca que me protege, mi escudo, el poder que me salva, mi más alto escondite. Que FedEx y UPS y el correo sigan entregando paquetes, pero tú y yo esperamos que Dios siga enviando el regalo más valioso porque la paga del pecado es muerte, pero el regalo de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro. Escucha, Él está a la Puerta y llama, quiere entregarte el regalo de la vida eterna, pero requiere tu firma. Dios no lo deja en la puerta. ¡Ábrele tu corazón y el firmará tu nombre en el libro de la Vida!

1 I love you, Lord, my strength.

2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield[b] and the horn[c] of my salvation, my stronghold.

3 I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
and I have been saved from my enemies.
4 The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
5 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.

6 In my distress I called to the Lord;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.
7 The earth trembled and quaked,
and the foundations of the mountains shook;
they trembled because he was angry.
8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.
9 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.

he rescued me because he delighted in me.

20 The Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord;
I am not guilty of turning from my God.
22 All his laws are before me;
I have not turned away from his decrees.
23 I have been blameless before him
and have kept myself from sin.

Exalted be God my Savior!
47 He is the God who avenges me,
who subdues nations under me,
48 who saves me from my enemies.
You exalted me above my foes;
from a violent man you rescued me.
49 Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
I will sing the praises of your name.

50 He gives his king great victories;
he shows unfailing love to his anointed,
to David and to his descendants forever.

“…God is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. For…who is the Rock except our God? It is He who arms me with strength.” [Verses 30-32, NIV]. Are you waiting for a package to arrive at your house? In 2023, during the holiday season, over 4.5 billion packages were delivered through Amazon, UPS, FedEx, postal services, and other companies. These orders were placed online through the powerful, invisible cyberspace cloud. Verse 6: “In my distress, I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From His temple, He heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears.” [RVR 1960]. Ships in distress send out an SOS, a signal seeking help… Verse 16: “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep waters.” [NVI]. Like a gift basket full of delicious treats, listen to what David received: You, Lord, are my strength, my rock. You are my protector, my refuge, my deliverer, my God, the rock who protects me, my shield, the power that saves me, my highest hiding place. Let FedEx, UPS, and postal services continue delivering packages, but you and I await God to keep sending the most precious gift because the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Listen, He is at the door, knocking, wanting to deliver the gift of eternal life, but it requires your signature. God doesn’t leave it at the door. Open your heart, and He will sign your name in the Book of Life!
