Levítico 1: Los holocaustos.
1 El Señor llamó a Moisés y le habló desde la Tienda de reunión. Le ordenó 2 que dijera a los israelitas: «Cuando alguno de ustedes traiga una ofrenda al Señor, deberá presentar un animal de ganado vacuno u ovino.
3 »Si el animal que ofrece en holocausto es de ganado vacuno, deberá presentar un macho sin defecto a la entrada de la Tienda de reunión. Así será aceptable al Señor. 4 Pondrá su mano sobre la cabeza de la víctima, la cual será aceptada en su lugar y servirá para obtener el perdón de sus pecados. 5 Después degollará el ternero ante el Señor y los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes, tomarán la sangre y la derramarán alrededor del altar que está a la entrada de la Tienda de reunión. 6 Luego le quitará el cuero a la víctima del holocausto y la cortará en trozos. 7 Los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes, harán fuego sobre el altar y echarán leña; 8 después acomodarán los trozos sobre la leña encendida del altar, junto con la cabeza y el sebo. 9 Las entrañas y las patas se lavarán con agua, y luego el sacerdote lo quemará todo en el altar. Es un holocausto, una ofrenda puesta al fuego, cuyo aroma es grato al Señor.
10 »Si alguien ofrece un holocausto de ganado ovino, sea de corderos o de cabras, deberá presentar un macho sin defecto. 11 Lo degollará ante el Señor, en el costado norte del altar, y los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes, derramarán la sangre alrededor del altar. 12 Luego lo cortará en trozos, los cuales el sacerdote acomodará sobre la leña encendida del altar, junto con la cabeza y el sebo. 13 Las entrañas y las patas se lavarán con agua, y el sacerdote lo tomará todo y lo quemará en el altar. Es un holocausto, una ofrenda puesta al fuego cuyo aroma es grato al Señor.
14 »Si alguien ofrece al Señor un holocausto de ave, deberá presentar una tórtola o un pichón de paloma. 15 El sacerdote llevará el ave al altar para quemarla. Le arrancará la cabeza; después exprimirá la sangre en un costado del altar, 16 y le quitará también el buche y las entrañas, y los arrojará hacia el costado oriental del altar, donde se echa la ceniza. 17 Después la desgarrará por las alas, pero sin arrancárselas. Entonces el sacerdote la quemará en el altar sobre la leña encendida. Es un holocausto, una ofrenda puesta al fuego cuyo aroma es grato al Señor.

“El Señor llamó a Moisés y le habló desde la Tienda de reunión … [versículo 1, NVI]. ¡En Éxodo Dios habla desde el Monte Sinaí y se construye el Tabernáculo (la Tienda) de Reunión, en Levítico Dios habla desde el Tabernáculo y da instrucciones de cómo usarlo! Aquí se nos instruye sobre la conducta, la adoración y también el servicio. Es el manual de servicio para los sacerdotes. En los primeros capítulos encontraremos cinco ofrendas o sacrificios, tres de ellos voluntarios y dos obligatorios. El primero de ellos es el Holocausto. Holocausto significa quemado o incinerado y es un tipo de Cristo ofreciéndose a sí mismo sin mancha para cumplir la voluntad del Padre. En los otros sacrificios parte de la ofrenda era para el sacerdote o para el ofrendante, o para ambos, pero en el holocausto la víctima era enteramente quemada: “todo era para Dios quien tiene una satisfacción completa y un gozo perfecto en lo que cumple Su Amado Hijo”, como escribió Gilberto Lear. “Mas Cristo ya estando presente, Sumo Sacerdote de los bienes que habían de venir, por otro más amplio y más perfecto tabernáculo, no hecho de manos, es a decir, no de esta creación, y no por sangre de machos cabríos ni de becerros, sino por su propia sangre entró una sola vez en el Santuario diseñado para eterna redención [Hebreos 9:11-12 Versión Jubilee 2000]. Jesus es nuestro Sumo Sacerdote y a la vez, la víctima sin mancha ofreciéndose a sí mismo para cumplir la voluntad del Padre! Por ese sacrificio tengo el perdón eterno de Dios. ¡Tú también puedes tenerlo!
Leviticus 1: The Burnt Offering.
1 The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting. He said, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When anyone among you brings an offering to the Lord, bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.
3 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the Lord. 4 You are to lay your hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on your behalf to make atonement for you. 5 You are to slaughter the young bull before the Lord, and then Aaron’s sons the priests shall bring the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 6 You are to skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces. 7 The sons of Aaron the priest are to put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire. 8 Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar. 9 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
10 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats, you are to offer a male without defect. 11 You are to slaughter it at the north side of the altar before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar. 12 You are to cut it into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar. 13 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to bring all of them and burn them on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
14 “‘If the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, you are to offer a dove or a young pigeon. 15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off the head and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar. 16 He is to remove the crop and the feathers[a] and throw them down east of the altar where the ashes are. 17 He shall tear it open by the wings, not dividing it completely, and then the priest shall burn it on the wood that is burning on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.

“The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting …” [verse 1, NIV]. In Exodus God speaks from Mount Sinai and the Tabernacle (the tent) of Reunion is being built, in Leviticus God speaks from the Tabernacle and gives instructions on how to use it! Here we are instructed on how to behave, how to worship and also how to serve Him. It is the service manual for priests. In the first chapters we will find five offerings or sacrifices, three of them were voluntary and two were mandatory. The first one is the Holocaust. Holocaust means completely burned or incinerated and is a type of Christ offering himself without blemish to fulfill the will of the Father. In the other sacrifices, part of the offering was for the priest or for the offeror, or for both, but in the burnt offering the victim was completely burned: “everything was for God who has a complete satisfaction and a perfect joy in what His Beloved Son accomplishes. “, as Mr. Gilberto Lear wrote. ” But Christ being now come, high priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the sanctuary designed for eternal redemption. [Hebrews 9: 11-12, Jubilee Bible 2000]. Jesus is our High Priest and, at the same time, the spotless victim offering himself to fulfill the will of the Father! Through that sacrifice I have God’s eternal forgiveness. You can have it too!
