Éxodo 31: Bezalel y Aholiab.
1 El Señor habló con Moisés y le dijo: 2 «Toma en cuenta que he escogido a Bezalel, hijo de Uri y nieto de Hur, de la tribu de Judá, 3 y lo he llenado del Espíritu de Dios, de sabiduría, inteligencia y capacidad creativa 4 para hacer trabajos artísticos en oro, plata y bronce, 5 para cortar y engastar piedras preciosas, para hacer tallados en madera y realizar toda clase de artesanías. 6 Además, he designado como su ayudante a Aholiab, hijo de Ajisamac, de la tribu de Dan.
»Y he dotado de habilidad a todos los artesanos para que hagan todo lo que te he mandado hacer, es decir:
7 »la Tienda de reunión,
el arca con las tablas del pacto,
la tapa que va encima de ella,
el resto del mobiliario de la Tienda,
8 la mesa y sus utensilios,
el candelabro de oro puro y todos sus accesorios,
el altar del incienso,
9 el altar de los holocaustos y todos sus utensilios,
el recipiente de bronce con su pedestal,
10 las vestiduras tejidas,
tanto las vestiduras sagradas para Aarón el sacerdote
como las vestiduras sacerdotales de sus hijos,
11 el aceite de la unción y el incienso aromático para el Lugar Santo.
»Todo deberán hacerlo tal como te he mandado que lo hagas».
El sábado
12 El Señor ordenó a Moisés:
13 «Diles lo siguiente a los israelitas: Ustedes deberán observar mis sábados. En todas las generaciones venideras, el sábado será una señal entre ustedes y yo, para que sepan que yo, el Señor, los he consagrado.[a]
14 »El sábado será para ustedes un día sagrado. Obsérvenlo.
»Quien no lo observe será condenado a muerte.
»Quien haga algún trabajo en sábado será eliminado de su pueblo.
15 »Durante seis días se podrá trabajar, pero el día séptimo, el sábado, será de completo reposo consagrado al Señor.
»Quien haga algún trabajo en sábado será condenado a muerte.
16 »Los israelitas deberán observar el sábado. En todas las generaciones futuras será para ellos un pacto perpetuo, 17 una señal eterna entre ellos y yo.
»En efecto, en seis días hizo el Señor los cielos y la tierra, el séptimo día descansó».
18 Y cuando terminó de hablar con Moisés en el monte Sinaí, le dio las dos tablas del pacto, que eran dos lajas escritas por el dedo mismo de Dios.

“«Toma en cuenta que he escogido a Bezalel, hijo de Uri y nieto de Hur, de la tribu de Judá, y lo he llenado del Espíritu de Dios, de sabiduría, inteligencia y capacidad creativa.” [versículos 2 y 3, Nueva Versión Internacional]. Algunos de nosotros somos buenos para recordar rostros, pero no tanto para recordar los nombres. Es importante para la persona cuando se le llama por su nombre porque le infunde confianza y la hace saber importante. Así se habrá sentido Bezaleel cuyo nombre significa bajo la sombra de Dios, cuando Dios lo llamó. Ya no sería identificado por ser el hijo de Uri y nieto de Hur. Ahora es Bezaleel y quien lo llamó era Dios mismo. También Dios te conoce a ti y a mi por nuestros nombres porque somos únicos para Él. No solo lo llamó por su nombre, lo llenó de Su Espíritu en sabiduría e inteligencia para hacer un trabajo sumamente delicado en un lugar muy especial. También le dio ayuda, su asistente Aholiab. Su nombre significa “la tienda del padre” y honró su nombre trabajando en la Tienda del Padre. Dios no solo usa profetas y sacerdotes, usa también a cualquier persona de cualquier oficio que esté dispuesto a oír Su llamado y obedecer Su voz. Dios quiere usarte hoy en el lugar en que te puso y con los talentos con que te ha dotado. También a ti te llenará de Su Espíritu. Bezaleel hizo un trabajo tan espectacular, sin embargo, su nombre quedó en la sombra. También honró su nombre porque quedó a la sombra de Dios. Dios nos honra llamándonos por nuestro nombre y nosotros le honramos a Él cuando hacemos lo que Él nos ha capacitado para hacer, y solo Él es glorificado.
Exodus 31: Bezalel y Aholiab
1 Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts. 6 Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you: 7 the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent— 8 the table and its articles, the pure gold lampstand and all its accessories, the altar of incense, 9 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin with its stand— 10 and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests, 11 and the anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them just as I commanded you.”
The Sabbath
12 Then the Lord said to Moses, 13 “Say to the Israelites, ‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.
14 “‘Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people. 15 For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death. 16 The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. 17 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’”
18 When the Lord finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.

“I’ve personally chosen Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur of the tribe of Judah. I’ve filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him skill and know-how and expertise in every kind of craft to create designs and work in gold, silver, and bronze; to cut and set gemstones; to carve wood—he’s an all-around craftsman.” [verses 2 and 3, The Message]. Some of us are good at remembering faces, but not so much to remember names. It is important for the person when he or she is called by their name because it instills confidence in such person and makes him or her feel important. This is how Bezalel will have felt when God called him. His name means “under the shadow of God”. He would no longer be identified as the son of Uri and grandson of Hur. Now he was Bezalel who God Himself had called. God also knows you and me by our names because we are unique to Him. He did not just called him by his name, he filled him with His Spirit in wisdom and intelligence to do an extremely delicate job in a very special place. He also gave him help, his assistant Aholiab. Aholiab ‘s name means “the father’s tent” and he honored his name by working in the Father’s Tent. God not only uses prophets and priests, God also uses any person from any trade who is willing to hear His call and obey His voice. God wants to use you today in the place where He put you and with the talents with which he has endowed you. He will fill you with His spirit. Bezalel did such a spectacular job but his name was left in the shadow. He also honored his name because he remained in the shadow of God. God honors us by calling us by our name, and we honor Him when by what we do, He alone is glorified.
